Ketorolac works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Toradol is used short-term (5 days or less) to treat moderate to severe pain. You should not use Toradol if you have any active or recent bleeding, a head injury, a stomach ulcer, severe kidney disease, a bleeding or blood-clotting disorder if you are scheduled to have surgery, if you are in late pregnancy, or if you are breast-feeding a baby.
